Alexis Van Eeckhout, a self-taught musician and a student of the American Saxophonist J.R. Monterose, comes back, as hobby, with what is called a "Jazz-Fresh" (chill-out) style.
His musical experience started at a very early age in his family.
His first instrument of predilection whas the Clarinet. He played some Classical pieces o f music with his father who was a professional Classical Composer, Organist, and Orchestra's Chief., Later, he played Tenor sax, Alto sax, Soprano sax and Traverse flute with several Belgian bands .
Since 1997, he has focused on blending his musical experiences and influences in order to create his own style. Working on his musical phrasing, melody, harmonisation and rythm as well as on a global musical ambiance for each piece.
He likes to try a new musical approach with proposing new ways in harmonical structures .
These pieces have been composed, performed ( Tenor-sax, Keyboards, Synth ) programmed ( Alto Sax vsti, Trumpet vsti, Pan Pipes flute vsti, Fula flute vsti, Traverse flute vsti, Bandoneon vsti, Acoustic piano vsti, Fender piano vsti, Vibraphone vsti, Hammond organ vsti, Guitars vsti, Violins vsti, Bass vsti, Double-Bass vsti, Drums vsti, Percussions vsti ) and recorded, mixed, mastered by Alexis Van Eeckhout himself .
Truly, a music well suited for dream and evasion...

Your sax is always great, no doubt about that. But this one, I think it's the drums & percs that stand out and make it so exciting. Loved it!

Another wonderful production, keyboard playing is top notch, Sax is always exceptional, feeling is grandiose. This composition has it all, great musicianship, it portrays complex moods and emotions, has lots of space and openness, percussion is diverse and tight... just great. Highly Recommended!

How do you come up with all this!? Even though your production is always top shelf and your performances excellent, it's the imaginative arrangments that steal the show for me. I NEVER know where you are going next. This song somehow maintains continuity while wandering through a veritable labrynth of timings, tones, and emotions. Wonderful work Alexis!!

Ysatis! A definite candidate for a film score. This is one hell-of-a multidimentional composition.
Charted or uncharted, notated or not, this is an extraordinary work. I listened several times while this piece inspired images of dark, damp, smelly allies and back doors to bars, gatherings beneath the hoop ring, passing weed...shots ring out...flashes of the next day, segway into scenes from the day before, year before, a life before this one, when there was peace on earth. What happened?
Vivid! Vivid! Non restrictive, your music moves me along through alternate worlds. Listen again and it's a different world a different you a different me.
Creative percussive interludes, saultry sax lines, dark matter/piano riffs, familiar genres unexpectedly appear, weaving in and out, latin beats, funk and all, compelling you deeper and deeper into the mystery of this story unfolding.
Exceptional musicianship and composition strength,
latteta

Alexis, great work. the intro reminded me a bit of Steely Dan but the comparison ended there. this is so much more ambitious and far ranging. as always, i enjoyed the sax most of all. also thought the piano/string part closer to the end was powerful. just great music. gabe

Adventurous as ever, I particularly love the percussive/drum power and the mighty brass range. From sweetest symphonic sections to avantgardistic keyboard play - your soulful jazz basis including the shining saxophone as trademark keeps the piece together as well-structured work, and the adorable production makes "Ysatis" to another aural feast for serious music lovers.
