A special thanks to a special Granma!
Granma Was my Hero
Im gonna tell the story
Of a woman that I loved
Its probably not an image
Youd be thinking of
She was 5 foot nothing
At least 3 feet around
But every time I needed her
I knew where shed be found
Granma was my hero------------- Chorus
In oh so many ways
Her bible was her favorite book
She lived it every day
Grampa was a drunkard
Led to an early grave
She always tried and tried
But he could not be saved
Her teeth her only enemy
Her gums withstood the test
Give her the toughest steak
She would do her best
She was a comic figure
In an old housedress
Cruising down the roadside
She sure looked a mess
Instrumental Break
Granma was my hero-------------- Chorus
In oh so many ways
Her bible was her favorite book
She lived it every day
She raised a dozen children
And taught them very well
She gave us her everything
Much more than I can tell
She made her little money---------- Bridge
Picking at the dumps
Sorting through the refuse
Finding treasures there
Sometimes when I think of her
Tears flow from my eyes
A sadness fills my heart
That I cannot describe
Granma was my hero-------------- Chorus
In oh so many ways
Her bible was her favorite book
She lived it every day
She raised a dozen children
And taught them very well
She gave us her everything
Much more than I can tell
She gave us everything
Much more than I can tell
